Nurse Auditor

Under the direct supervision and at the direction of the Director of Budget and Reimbursement, the Nurse Auditor organizes, conducts and reports findings of audits. The focus of the Nurse Auditor is threefold: (1) proactive compliance monitoring and auditoring (retrospective and concurrent monitoring and auditoring); (2) retrospective insurance audits of charts identified by insurance companies (defense audits); and (3) audits of charts identified by Patient Account Representatives (PARs) as the result of a patient inquiry.Under the direct supervision and at the direction of the Ethics & Compliance Officer, the Nurse Auditor shall organize, conduct, and report findings of audits. This position is intended to assist the Hospital Ethics & Compliance Office implement the auditing and monitoring element of the Hospital Ethics & Compliance Program. The focus of the Nurse Auditor function is on proactive auditing. Although some retrospective auditing is a component of the Nurse Auditor function, proactive, concurrent auditing and monitoring is the primary auditing function of the Nurse Auditor.
