The position of Alliance Development Manager is responsible for the development of co-marketing partnerships, joint alliances, and other types of relationships with organizations desiring to align with Southwest Airlines Vacations. A key focus will be on the ongoing analysis and environmental scanning of potential relationships which have the ability to drive positive ROI in the short and long term. This position will work collaboratively with internal and external team members as well as with airline partners. The individual in this position will work as the principal liaison between Southwest Airlines Vacations and the alliance organization. This position exists to enhance passenger volume and profitability through segments of the travel and non-travel market place which are currently underdeveloped.

Responsibilities:

Direct Affiliate/Alliance Marketing Program to build awareness and generate sales.
Develop / write business development plans.
Outline business market segments which align with the demographics and buying habits of our potential Customers.
Research and implement best practices, industry standards and legal requirements associated with alliance/affiliate marketing.
Monitor marketing activities of key competitors.
Research and recruit new affiliates / alliances into the program and develop programs to assist in growing the contributions of alliance relationships.
Utilize research to develop methodology for potential alliance organizations.
Daily management of performance-based alliances.
Ongoing communication to internal/external team members.
Work with a Financial Analyst to develop business opportunity projections and ROI analysis.
Manage marketing and promotional programs with affiliate relationships.
Develop and execute communication initiatives to drive revenue.
Negotiate positive cost structures with alliance programs.
Negotiate strong marketing ties with prospective alliance programs.
Forecast volume projections for fiscal year plans.
Develop budgets for a 12 month period and define variances on a monthly basis.
Ongoing day-to-day support / oversight for Consumer promotions with airline partners.
Point person for new business development programs such as gift cards, employer discount programs, etc.
Handle other potential programs which enhance our ability to become more efficient and effective in Customer relationships.
Present ideas, plans, and financial implications to multiple levels of the organization.
Meet and set deadlines which involve company team members.
Develop progress updates to the management team on specific action items.
Develop a calendar of initiatives which tie directly to a master departmental list.
Evaluate and coordinate contracts with Business unit and corporate legal team.

REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business with four years of marketing experience with progressive responsibility, or eight years of practical marketing experience with progressive responsibility.
Marketing experience including: Environment and SWOT analysis, Product Portfolio Analysis, Growth, Stability and Retrenchment Strategies, and Advertising Fundamentals.
Thorough understanding of online marketing channels and tactics.
Advanced Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Public speaking / presentation skills.
Strong negotiation / relationship skills.
Self-starter.
Time management and organizational skills.
Ability to be hands-on and to multi-task through a variety of endeavors.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects according to a vision.
Problem solving ability.
Detail oriented.
Ability to lead team members not under direct supervision.
Ability to develop a project from inception to completion.
Ability to research and draw conclusions.
Ability to travel approximately 15% of the time.
Demonstrated partnership development and/or relationship marketing desirable.
Affiliate marketing experience is a plus.
