Be part of one of the premiere child and adolescent mental health systems in the state. NWP is a mental health agency that provides intensive, residential treatment programming to males ages 12-17. NWP is also liscensed as a Type II correctional facility in the state of Wisconsin.

NWP is currently seeking full time group counselor/primary counselor at Northwest Passage I, a long term treatment program specializing in intensive mental health cases and juvenile sex offenders in an alternative to corrections environment. You will work directly with children and adolescents as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team treating emotional and behavioral disorders.

This is an excellent stepping stone for those pursuing a career in corrections / law enforcement to work with juveniles.

Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree -- preferred related field - Criminal Justice / Corrections , Psychology , Social Work , Recreational Therapy
In this position you will:
Work directly with clients to facilitate accountability and skill building in a wide variety of life skillsDesign and facilitate group sessions with adolescentsWork with a team to evaluate progress and alter individual treatment plan strategies

Role modeling and teaching clients positive social skills and accountability are critical. The ability to be creative and design interesting and hands-on therapeutic and educational mental health groups is imperative. Communication within the team is essential.
